Montreal, January 17th 2002/CNW/ — Pro-ADN Diagnostic announced today that it has signed a partnership agreement with HémaX Génome Inc. Under this agreement, the two Montreal companies, which conduct research and development (R&D) activities in human genomics, will have access to one of the best equipped private laboratories in Canada in this field.
"We are extremely pleased with this agreement since it gives Pro-ADN Diagnostic an opportunity to maintain close collaboration with the scientific community, while making the use of its laboratory and leading-edge technologies available to the best researchers in the region," confirms Normand Beauchamp, president of Pro-ADN Diagnostic.
"This agreement represents an ideal opportunity for HémaX since it gives us quick access to the infrastructures and resources we need to ensure the fast expansion of our various R&D programs," adds Marc Lussier, vice-president of operations at HémaX Génome.
Both companies have agreed not to disclose the details of the new agreement.
Founded in 1995, Pro-ADN Diagnostic is a biotechnology company that brings together a team of experienced professionals and leading-edge technologies in the field of molecular diagnostics. By marketing its services in the fields of human identification testing and molecular medicine, it is able to pursue its genomics R&D activities.
HémaX Génome is a genomics company specialized in the identification of genes of medical interest located on the human X chromosome. More specifically, it is dedicated to the discovery and therapeutic applications of biological factors that regulate hematopoiesis in the stem cells. HémaX has unique expertise in the functioning of the X-chromosome, especially in the role and mechanism of its random inactivation and it has developed proprietary methods of statistical analysis for quantitative traits specific to this chromosome.
