about this site:

Over the last few years, research in human genetics has improved our understanding of the different processes involved in the metabolism of various pharmaceutical compounds and nutriments. In the United States only, it is estimated that more than 100 000 deaths occur each year due to the side effects of frequently prescribed medications. Pharmacogenetics is one segment of the genetic field that studies the genes involved in drugs’ metabolism. Pharmacogenetics opens the doors to personalised medicine, enabling medical personnel to prescribe more efficient treatments according to their patients’ genetic profiles and therefore reducing the risk of adverse toxicity reactions as well as the side effects produced by some medications. As for the development of new therapeutic molecules, pharmacogenetic enables us to better understand the effects generated by new medications and allows us to reduce costs related to clinical trials. With accurate dosage for patients and less expensive development costs, pharmacogenetic can produce savings for third parties such as governments and insurers.

PRO-DNA Diagnostic offers its customers numerous pharmacogenetic services and seeks new working associations in this emerging field. For high throughput analysis on different types of samples or for the development of case study protocols, our laboratory offers its international customers an unparalleled cost/benefit ratio. Please note that for the moment, our laboratory does not offer the pharmacogenetic services for diagnostic purposes.
